Parental Bereavement Leave
(The Farley-Kluger Initiative to Amend the FMLA)

My “co-sponser” for the Farley-Kluger Initiative was on C-SPAN today for an interview regarding our efforts to add the death of a child as one of the qualifyers for 12 weeks of unpaid time that is allowed by FMLA.

  • Yes, but on the other hand i had/heard one good thing someone said at the day i buried my child. my fellow co-workers did a great job (police escort),… but somewhere near the end and he told me what he said, others confirmed it. “I will never again complain about my daughter waking me up throughout the night!” he to just had a new born at the time. i remember thinking nothing at the time, but it did hit me later in the years, at least something good came out of it for him….
